Vodice is one of the biggest turist centres. It is situated on the sunny coast of the Middle Adriatic, 12 km from town of Šibenik.  Vodice is very well connected to outside world. One can reach Vodice by plane from Zadar (60 km) and Split (70 km), and by Adriatic road from Šibenik.

There are two national parks close to Vodice - National park Krka and National park Kornati.

Vodice was first mentioned in 1402 although it was founded already in the Roman times as Arausa. It's name derives from the word meaning water sources which supplied the whole area.
